0.6 MWp system now supplies the Pagsanjan mall with clean electricity at around 20% below grid rates

Pagsanjan, Laguna, Philippines — 28th October 2026 — CLA Town Center Mall ("CLA Mall") will now consume 860 MWh of clean electricity per year after its rooftop solar system, built by Peak Energy under a power purchase agreement (PPA), was energized. The system supplies the mall with electricity at a rate around 20% below grid tariffs.

The 0.6 MWp rooftop installation is expected to generate approximately 860 MWh of clean electricity each year, avoiding more than 370 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to the emissions from almost 152,000 liters of gasoline consumed.

Under the 10-year fixed-price PPA, Peak Energy developed, financed, engineered and built the system, managing permitting, procurement, construction and commissioning. Peak Energy will own, operate and maintain the asset for the full term of the agreement, while CLA Mall purchases the electricity generated on its roof, securing long-term cost savings without upfront capital investment.

Shopping malls carry steady daytime demand for air conditioning, lighting and tenant operations, a load profile closely matched to solar generation. With the system now operating, CLA Mall is among the first retail destinations in eastern Laguna to lock in clean, competitively priced power for the long term.

Peak Energy continues to expand its presence in the Philippines, with another 1 MWp rooftop installation for FCC Philippines Corporation in Laguna currently under construction and targeting commercial operation in early 2027.

"We are happy with our collaboration with Peak Energy, whose team delivered the system on a fast timeline while our mall stayed fully open to shoppers. Using solar power from our own roof lowers our electricity costs and is a step we are proud to take for our community in Pagsanjan," said Lolita Areza of CLA Mall.

"CLA Mall is showing that clean energy is a practical business decision for retail property owners, not only for large industrial sites," said Gavin Adda, CEO of Peak Energy. "Malls consume most of their power during daylight hours, which makes rooftop solar a natural fit. With the system now operating, CLA Mall has lower, more predictable electricity costs from day one, and our local team has shown its ability to take distributed solar from development through to operation in the Philippines. We look forward to supporting CLA Mall as its long-term operating partner."
