News - Peak Energy and H Energy to Jointly Develop Rooftop Solar Projects in South Korea

Peak Energy Partners with H Energy to Develop Rooftop Solar Projects Across South Korea
On September 29, Peak Energy Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with H Energy to explore the joint development of small-scale rooftop solar projects across South Korea, supporting corporate RE100 goals.
The proposed partnership aims to transform underutilized factory and warehouse rooftops into solar power plants, standardized and aggregated to provide renewable electricity at scale, broadening procurement options for companies in South Korea to meet their energy needs and decarbonization goals.
Peak Energy, a renewable energy independent power producer backed by Stonepeak, would finance and own the projects through a special-purpose company, bringing its development and asset management experience across Asia-Pacific to support long-term quality and performance. H Energy would lead rooftop origination, lease execution, permitting, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations and maintenance.
Together, the companies aim to turn scattered rooftops into investable renewable energy assets that broaden procurement options for Korean businesses and help them meet their RE100 commitments.
Park Jae-pil, CEO of Peak Energy Korea, said:
“On behalf of Peak Energy, I am pleased to collaborate with H Energy. Peak Energy possesses global-experience gained from developing and operating renewable energy projects across Asia, local execution capabilities and solid financial stability.
“Combined with H Energy’s capabilities, we will be able to supply the renewable energy needed for companies to meet their RE100 commitments more quickly and reliably,” he said, adding, “We look forward to continuing to create more opportunities together with H Energy.”
